United States.- The New York Metropolitan Museum again opened its doors for the 2025 edition of the Met galathe maximum fashion event organized by the iconic Anna WintourChief of writing of the prestigious Vogue Magazine.
The event held on the first Monday of May of each year, raised funds for the suit institute (Costume Institute), with tickets that reach 75,000 dollars per seat, and the 330,000 dollars for those who wish a complete table.
This year, the theme of the Met Gala was titled “Superfino: black style tailoring”, being the first exhibition dedicated exclusively to African -American designers and the first in more than two decades concentrated in male fashion.
Inspired by the book “Fashion slaves: black dandism and the style of black diasporic identity”, of Monica L. Millerprofessor and director of African Studies at the Barnard College of Columbia University, the theme explored the fashion conceived by the so -called black dandism, from 18th -century clothing until today.
Celebrities of the moment, like Sabrina Carpenter, Dua Lipa, Bad Bunny, Zendaya and Sydney Sweeneyeven consolidated artists like Madonna, Anne Hathaway, Shakira and Demi Mooreas well as designers Tom Ford, Pharrell Williams and Michael Korsthey paraded on the stairs of the Metropolitan Art Museum, posing for hundreds of photographers and reporters who came to cover one of the most anticipated fashion events.
This year’s met gala hosts were: the actor Colman Domingothe F1 pilot Lewis Hamiltonthe musician and designer Pharrell Williamsthe former Basketball player LeBron James And of course, Anna Wintour.
