Cardi B “demonstrated” Pharrell’s mistake with the Sabrina Carpenter dress at the Met gala

The artist Pharell Williams, who is creative director of the male line of the famous clothing brand “Louis Vuitton”, while preparing the singer’s suit Sabrina Carpenter, told him that he could not wear pants in the “Met gala” because it is short. Meanwhile, the Cardi B singer, who is also low, appeared on the red carpet of the event wearing entlighted pants of the Burberry brand.
On Monday night the greatest fashion night was held, known as “Met Gala”, with the participation of the greatest stars, under the dress code “Tailored for You” and in line with the theme of the exhibition “Superfino: black style tailoringhe reported buzz.
Among the guests was singer Carpenter, who wore an entire dark cherry suit of the Louis Vuitton brand, a structured jacket and very high heels, without any pants. It was designed by Williams himself.

“He told me: ‘You’re short, so they don’t serve your pants.'” “So here we are,” Carpenter said on the red carpet of the event when he was interviewed by the artist La La Anthony for Vogue.
But the public, who was commenting on the images of the MET gala on social networks from home, did not take Pharrell’s excuse well.
Many commentators pointed out that this issue was a golden opportunity to show how much a tailoring can affect the visual improvement of bodily proportions, especially in people of short stature.
“If Pharrell really told Sabrina that it is too short to wear pants, then he is saying that at the LV headquarters they don’t know how to sew, hahaha,” a commentator wrote in X.

Another added: “I thought the same when he said that, Uhhh, what a lost opportunity to show your sewing skills!”
While another woman wrote: “As a very short woman, as Sabrina, I almost felt offended by that comment. It is limiting and degrading. And, above all, it is unreasonable and lazy, because using pants is not long, but of tailoring, adjustment and style.”
But then the Cardi B singer appeared on the MET gala carpet and showed everyone the opposite. He wore a perfectly made green velvet suit of the famous “Burberry” brand, with long pants and an elongated silhouette, clearly showing the power of tailoring.
Cardi, who measures only 1.60 meters, was praised for his appearance and many users on social networks used it as an example to further criticize Carpenter’s choice.

“This is the true art of sewing. They have made incredibly long legs. You would not think that this girl measures only 1.60,” another commentator wrote in X.
Meanwhile, another user of social networks wrote that “that is why Pharrell’s comments about Sabrina were inappropriate.”
And someone else said: “It was absurd that Pharrell told Sabrina that he couldn’t wear pants because it’s short. Pants can actually make you look taller!”
Meanwhile, Carpenter himself has reacted to the X after the entire debate. He did not mention Pharrell, but he was responding to a publication where a commentator had made a detailed analysis of six points of the reasons why his outfit did not work. He had even edited another possible version of his outfit, adding pants and a dramatic hat.
“I would never have suggested this color or this ‘master of ceremonies’ suit, but it is a good example of how clothes that look good can fail.”
- The narrow neck causes the neck to seem even shorter.
- Sharmed shoulders accentuate this effect even more.
- The sleeves are bustled and without form, better without them to emphasize the waist.
- Large buttons make the waist seem wider.
- Vertical lines are key to creating length illusion.
- “A hat with striking feathers would add a few extra centimeters and a little height,” said the publication.
Carpenter’s response was brief but humorous, admitting that he had made a mistake with the outfit.
“Damn, I screwed up …” (I screwed her completely), the star wrote.
