Kim Kardashian will testify at the trial for the theft of Paris

The Telerreality star Kim Kardashian will testify Tuesday afternoon at the trial against a band accused of assaulting her at a gunpoint in her hotel room in Paris in 2016 and stealing jewelry valued at several million dollars.

The suspects are accused of binding the billionaire with flanges and insulating tape before taking jewelry, including a engagement ring of 4 million dollars that her then husband, rapper Kanye West – gave him – now known as Ye -, according to researchers.

In Tuesday, before Kardashian’s testimony, dozens of journalists queued to enter the court.

Kardashian told David Letterman’s robbery in an interview in 2020 trying to contain tears when remembering his fears of being raped that night.

“They stopped saying: ‘The ring, the ring’,” Kardashian said.

“I kept looking at the janitor,” he continued to refer to the concierge of the exclusive hotel that had been forced at the tip of the gun to guide the band to his apartment.

“He told me: ‘Are we going to die? Tell them I have children, that they are babies (…). I have to go home.'”

Yunice Abás, 71, who is among the 10 suspects who are being tried, many of them between 60 and 70 years and nicknamed “La Banda de los Abuelos”, has told French media that he and others who participated in the robbery did not know who Kardashian was.

“It was not her, it was her diamond our goal,” Abás A C8 TV a few years ago. Abás has admitted his participation in theft and has written a book about it. In interviews with French media, he said he lamented what he had done and wanted to apologize to Kardashian. In these cases there is no possibility of declaring himself guilty and Abás is being judged despite having admitted his participation in the robbery.

Frank Berton, a lawyer who represents Aomar Ait Jedache, 68, nicknamed “Omar el Viejo,” he said last month that he hoped that the fact that Kardashian is a world star not affect the trial. Jedache is accused of being the band’s leader, something he denies.

“This trial attracts international attention because of who the plaintiff is, the victim,” said Berton.

“What we expect is that nothing changes in the way of judging the facts,” he added.
