So far, the singer has not spoken about it, however, on other occasions he has done so. Then the count.
Fights chronology between Donald Trump and Taylor Swift
It all started when, in 2018, Taylor Swift published a message on Instagram supporting two Democratic candidates in Tennessee and accusing the then Republican Senator Marsha Blackburn to vote against women’s rights and the LGBTQ+community. Trump’s reaction was swift. From the White House, the president launched one of his already classic comments in passive-agreesive tone: “I like Taylor’s music as 25% less now,” he said to the press.
After this comment, Taylor intensified his political messages. In the American Miss documentary, released in 2020, the singer revealed family internal discussions about how to face Trump. In an already iconic scene, crying, Taylor says: “This man believes he can control our lives. I can’t get quiet longer.” Since then, the star became one of the most powerful voices against Trumpism, directly accusing him of enviving racism and violence.

Donald Trump vs. Taylor Swift, the tweet that set everything fired
In June 2020, during the protests for the murder of George Floyd, Trump published on Twitter a incendiary phrase: “When the looting starts, the shootings begin.” Taylor responded with one of his most viral tweets: “After enlivening the fire of white supremacism and racism all your presidency, do you have the impudence of pretending moral superiority before threatening with violence? We will take you out in November.”
That was the moment when the fight ceased to be a series of indirects and became a frontal duel between pop culture and political power.
The revenge … silent?
Although Trump avoided appointing her directly after leaving the presidency, her most faithful followers continued to attack Taylor in social networks, accusing her of being part of the “Deep State” and using his music as a tool for indoctrination.
For his part, Taylor has made it clear that he would not cast back. In 2023, during her tour The Eras Tour, the singer launched Merch with feminist phrases and pro-vote, making it clear that her battle against Trumpism is part of her artistic narrative.
