Trump attacks Taylor Swift again: strategy or frustration?

The undisputed protagonist, Donald Trumphe directed his verbal darts to a figure in the entertainment world: Taylor Swift. The controversy arose from a publication in Social truthwhere the former president commented: “Has anyone noticed that, since I said ‘I hate Taylor Swift,’ he’s no longer ‘good’?”

This comment, apparently emerged from nothing, revives a story that dates back to 2018, when Swift began to openly express its political preferences. In September of that year, he openly supported the Democratic candidate Kamala Harris For the vice presidency, publishing an image with her cat and the message: “I am voting for @kamalaharris because it fights for the rights and causes that I think they need a warrior who defends them.” This action, after the publication of a false Swift image supporting Trump, caused the angry response of the then president: “I hate Taylor Swift!”

Interestingly, the relationship between the two was not always tense. In 2012, Trump came to congratulate Swift for his career, qualifying her as “fantastic” and “terrific” in different publications. However, this initial affection seems to have vanished to the extent that Swift has been showing his political position, which has cost him, in his own words, a decrease in the esteem of the former president (“Let’s say I like Taylor’s music 25% less now, okay?”).

The current situation, a new attack by the former president, generates questions. Is it a strategy to maintain your presence in the media? Is it a simple expression of political frustration? Time, and the following publications in the networks will say it.
