This week, human remains were found a few blocks from the house in front of the sea of Taylor Swift, valued at 17 million dollars. The finding in the house located in Watch Hill, a neighborhood of Westerly, Rhode Island, generated concern in the community and internet speculation about the existence of a possible serial murderer stalking the area.
What the police affirm that it could be a human leg bone was discovered on Wednesday morning around 9:30 am near Everett Avenue. The place is less than 800 meters from the Swift Holiday House, of 11 thousand square feet, where it is well known for organizing commemorative parties on July 4.
Research is ongoing
The Rhode Island Forensic Doctor Office has just confirmed that the remains are now in their possession and are being examined with the hope of identifying their origin and the condition of the bone.
Although officials have said that they do not suspect any crime at this time, the way they discovered the body has left residents like Taylor Day, who passed by car while the police arrived.
“It alarmed me a little, and it was something very unusual for Westerly,” Day 10 News told Day. “I would never have expected something like that, and less in Watch Hill.”
Although the discovery is not linked to an ongoing criminal investigation, Day said he has altered his routine.
“I definitely disagree (with not being suspected of something illicit),” he said. “I think finding a leg is very suspicious.”
“I immediately thought about all the theories that circulate,” Day added. “I am more attentive to my surroundings. I do not go to dark places or where I can be alone. I simply try to be in public and be alert.”
The finding has revived rumors, at least online, about a possible serial killer, since it is said that it is the thirteenth part of a human body found in the area in recent years. The relationship between these discoveries has not been officially confirmed.
Swift’s summer retreat attracts new attention
Swift, who lives in New York City, usually escapes the Rhode Island estate between projects. The property is found in 213 meters from the private beach, a long strip of white sand separated from its luxury life by a large patio and pool.
The pop star frequently invites close friends and celebrities to his house, as he did with Travis Kelce, Gigi Hadid and Bradley Cooper, who has been a refuge for celebrities for a discreet getaway.
This year, it was not known if Swift would follow the same tradition while the investigation was carried out.
