One of those accused of the robbery of Kim Kardashian in Paris states that this robbery was “more”

One of the ten prosecuted in Paris for the theft of Kim Kardashian in 2016, who had written a book about the robbery, said Tuesday that he regrets having participated.

Yunice Abbas, 71, said he stayed in the lobby of the Parisian hotel, watching, while two other suspects broke into the room of the Telerreality star on the night of October 2, 2016, they tied and gagged her and were left with 10 million dollars in jewels.

In 2021, Abbas published his version of the facts in a book entitled “I kidnap Kim Kardashian.” A prosecutor held him during the hearing and when the judge asked the defendant why he had boasted about the robbery, he replied that he felt “very uncomfortable” and that “he fully repents” of having participated in the robbery.

As he said, he arrived at the scene of theft by bicycle and left the same way, and while fled he fell a bag that he carried with the loot.

He picked it up but a diamond necklace fell in the gesture, the only article that the police could recover.

As he said before the court, Kardashian’s was the robbery that was “more” in his history and the one that made him “open his eyes” about his behavior.

The defendant, who is sick with Parkinson, kept his right hand on the left, placed on his heart, throughout the audience. He said it was to prevent him from accelerating when he became nervous.

When the judge reviewed the prosecuted background, citing charges such as falsifying license plates to commit robberies or armed robbery, Abbas admitted that he sometimes had “moments of weakness” when he needed money.

“I fell into things that I thought they were easy shortcuts but in the end I was only complicated,” he said.

The process began on Monday in the French capital and Kardashian, 44, is cited to testify on May 13.

The ten defendants are 9 men and a woman, whose average age was around 60 years at the time of theft. Nine years later, many have white hair and some wear cane or hearing aid.
