Edmundo González heading to Donald Trump’s inauguration: “Venezuela present!”
Democratic leader Edmundo González reported on the morning of January 20 that he is heading to the United States Capitol to attend the inauguration of President-elect Donald Trump.
Through a video published on social networks, González reiterated that Venezuela will be present at the inauguration of the American president.
«Venezuela present! On a cold morning in Washington, here we are heading to the Capitol for the inauguration and swearing-in of President Donald Trump,” he said in the audiovisual, where he is seen aboard a vehicle.

Edmundo González participated in an event prior to Trump’s inauguration
On Sunday, González Urrutia attended one of the inaugural galas for the republican’s investiturean event for Hispanic donors and leaders in the United States.
In a brief intervention during the gala, he said that the spirit of freedom of Venezuelans is unbreakable and that thanks to the leadership of opposition leader María Corina Machado “and the tireless mobilization of millions of Venezuelans, we assume the responsibility of rescuing our democracy.”
The opposition leader, who is considered the legitimate winner of the July 28 elections by the United States and has been called a freedom fighter by Trump, noted that “the regime did not skimp on persecution, torture and crimes against humanity”.
In the opinion of González Urrutia, who was applauded by Trump supporters present in the Mayflower Hotel lounge, “with the support of our international allies and the solidarity of the brothers represented here and with the firm determination of every Venezuelan who does not give up, “We can say with certainty that freedom will prevail.”
