Miley Cyrus has been released fully to experimentation, both musical and aesthetics, with her new album, Subject Beautifulreleased this Friday. The project also includes a musical film that will be released on June 6 at the Tribeca Festival.
With costumes assigned by the file of the French designer Thierry Mugler, who died in 2022, and designs created especially for her by Casey Cadwalader, creative director of the firm until last March, the singer fuses music, fashion and cinema both in the promotional videos of her new songs and in the film.
Cyrus looks in the film designs from other great fashion names, such as Jean Paul Gaultier, Alexander McQueen and Alaïa.
The film has been directed by Cyrus herself with Panos Cosmatos, Brendan Walter and Jacob Bixenman. It will be released in theaters of the United States and Canada on June 12, while from the 27th of the same month international projections will begin, according to Sony Music in a statement.
Subject BeautifulNinth Cyrus studio album, is presented as a global artistic project that has renowned collaborations, such as the Naomi Campbell model, who appears in the “Eventy Girl You’ve Ever Loved” video clip.
Before the launch of this Friday, two themes had already been advanced: “More to lise” and “End of the World”. To them is now added “Easy Lover”, which is accompanied by a new video clip.
The album contains a total of 13 songs that explore songs such as healing, transformation and the search for beauty in the midst of darkness. The production was in charge of Cyrus along with Shawn Everett, and has collaborations by Brittany Howard, Maxx Morando and Michael Pollack.
It is an introspective, musically adventurous album with a deep emotional load, “as described by his record label. The sound proposal covers from ballads as “More to Lose”, to purely pop themes such as “Easy Lover”, through disk rhythms in “Walk of Fame” or psychedelic incursions in the two instrumental interludes that the album includes.
The cover, created by photographer Glen Luchford, shows Cyrus dressed in an original Thierry Mugler costume of 1997, a garment that also appears in the “Prelude” video clip.
“The 13 songs have a special place in my heart,” he said recently in his social networks, where he has shared videos of choreographic and costume tests for their new audiovisual projects.

The song was six consecutive weeks as number one in the Billboard Hot 100 and accumulates more than 2.5 billion reproductions in Spotify.
