The superstar singer -songwriter Taylor SwifT acquired the rights of his first six albums, ending a long campaign to obtain control of the music of his first years.
The agreement announced on its website on Friday marks the end of a dispute between Swift, its former record label, Big Machine Label Group, its musical representative, Scooter Braun, and the private capital firm Shamrock Capital, which the albums had acquired. After losing control of the master recordings of her first works, the singer re -recorded some of the songs to try to undermine the popularity of the originals.
“To say that this is my biggest dream, it is, in reality, quite reserved,” he wrote in the statement. “Everything I have always wanted was the opportunity to work enough to someday buy my music directly, without ties, without partners, with total autonomy.”
Although Swift composed the songs of his first six albums, Big Machine possessed the recordings that made her famous. The seal sold them to Ithaca Holdings LLC, owned by Braun, in June 2019, as part of a broader agreement. After denouncing the lack of approval of the agreement by Swift, Ithaca Holdings sold those rights to Shamrock for about 300 million dollars.

Swift’s regrabations, known as “Taylor’s version”, They had a resounding success and gave their fans the option to support it in the battle for the rights of their songs. He did not reveal how much he paid to obtain the property in this new agreement.
The singer said that she now controls all the work of her life, including photography, the art of her albums, videos and unpublished songs.
“I feel extremely encouraged by the conversations that this saga has revived in my industry between artists and fans,” he wrote. “Every time a new artist tells me that he negotiated the property of his master recordings in his record contract due to this dispute, I remember how important it was that all this happened.”
