The Alicante actor conquests the musical ‘Wicked’ after dancing with Rihanna, Shakira and Becky G

The Alicante talent conquers the musical ‘Wicked’. The new ATG Entertainment production has signed the Alcoyano Aaron Mata actor in the cast of this international work, with uninterrupted functions for 21 years in Broadway and 18 in London, who will arrive in Spain next October.

The Alcoyano faces a new stage in his professional career within the entertainment world. He has worked for artists such as Rihanna, Shakira, Becky G, Todrick Hall and Jason Derulo, in addition to dancing in shows such as Operation Triunfo and being a choreographic assistant in La Voz.

The dancer and professional choreographer, trained as Gimnasta, began his academic training at the ‘Juan Cantó’ Conservatory of Alcoi, before passing through Madrid, Los Angeles, New York, Valencia, Barcelona and London.

Likewise, Aaron Mata has bore artists in different television programs as you can dose as you can, Secret Story or Idol Kids; And he has been part of the cast of ‘Mamma Mia!’ as swing in the first season and part of the second until 2024.

The Alcoyano actor has been chosen for the musical ‘Wicked’ among more than 3,500 curriculum – received during the six months of preselection – and the thousand tests performed before deciding the final cast.

During this new season in the musical ‘Wicked’, at the Nuevo Alcalá Theater in Madrid from this autumn, Aaron Mata will give life to the character of Chistery, along with other appearances in the cast of the cast.

It has been this Thursday when ATG Entertainment has announced to the complete cast of ‘Wicked’: Cristina Picos will play Elphaba, Cristina Llorente will put in the skin of Glinda, Lydia Fairén will be Nessarose, while Javier Ibarz will give life to the magician.

The list of protagonists continues with Xabier Nogales such as Fijero, Guadalupe Lancho as a morrible one, Esteban Oliver as Dillamond and Neizan Martín as Boq.

A trip to the land of Oz

‘Wicked’ will transport, as of October, the spectators to the magical land of Oz, long before the arrival of Dorothy, to discover the moving and surprising story never told of their legendary witches.

This story, adaptation of Gregory Maguire’s successful book, two young witches whose lives are intended to change forever.

On the one hand Elphaba, the future evil Witch of the West, is a young woman with emerald green skin, passionate and with an extraordinary talent, but misunderstood and rejected by society. On the other, Glinda, the future good witch of the North, is beautiful, ambitious and very popular.

In spite of their initial differences and the rivalry that arises between them, Elphaba and Glinda forge an unexpected but deep friendship. However, their paths separate due to the pressure of a world that do not tolerate the differences and decisions that will mark their destination forever.
