Shakira concert is last minute canceled in San Antonio for structural failures

Great frustration and indignation lived hundreds of Shakira fans tonight upon learning that the concert scheduled at the Alamodome was canceled minutes before starting. Many attendees were already formed or even within the enclosure when the unexpected announcement was given.
The suspension was due to structural problems with a key part of the stage, as confirmed by the Tour production team and the Colombian singer itself through an official statement.
“To act in each city, we depend on an external company that locally provides the infrastructure to hold the stage and the roof where my production is hanged,” Shakira explained.
According to the statement, the ruling was detected in a nearby – a fundamental metal structure to sustain the assembly of the show – which generated unacceptable security risks for the public, the staff and the artist.
The situation is especially delicate, since on a previous date an incident was identified with the same structure, which led Shakira to take preventive measures:
“I personally demanded the incorporation of a new group of engineers and met directly with the company so that it could be thoroughly reassess. They promised that the structure had been reinforced and that it was 100%safe,” said the eye interpreter like that.
Attendees expressed their anger on social networks, noting that cancellation was announced very little in advance, which generated significant losses due to tickets, trips and lodgings:
“I am here, devastated and disconsolate. Not being able to act for you tonight affects me deeply,” wrote the artist.
Shakira said that the Tour will continue in Houston as of Monday and that his team already works on a solution to reprogram the concert canceled in San Antonio in the next few days.
“Thank you for your understanding and patience. I am doing everything possible to meet again,” concluded.
