The Colombian singer Shakira rescheduled his concert at the Sofi Stadium in Los Angeles, originally scheduled for June 20. The new concert date is August 4.
The Latin pop star is touring the United States as part of its tour ‘Women no longer cry’. The announcement of the reprogramming was made by the company Ticketmaster through a statement addressed to the attendees.
“We have worked with the organizers of the event to reage your event and be sure that you will still have the possibility to attend. Your tickets are still valid for the new date,” says the message sent by email.
Although neither the company nor the singer reported the reason for the reprogramming, This decision is made in the midst of the migratory raids that the Immigration and Customs Control Service is implementing (ICE, for its acronym in English) and the National Guard.
People who acquired their tickets for the Shakira concert can use their tickets for the concert of August 4 without doing any additional procedure.
This reprogramming occurs in a strong social tension in Los Angeles and other cities in the country by ICE raids, which has generated outrage in the Latin community in the country. “I was only 19 when I moved to the US, like many other Colombian immigrants who arrive in this country In search of a better future. I remember that it was surrounded by Spanish-English dictionaries and synonym dictionaries, because at that time I did not have Google or Chatgpt to help. So everything was very precarious, ”he said exclusively for the BBC.
In the interview Shakira expressed what it feels like to be Latin in the United States and even sent a message of union in the midst of all this difficult situation.
“It means living with constant fear. And it is painful to see it. Now, more than ever, we have to remain united. Now, more than ever, we have to raise our voice and make it very clear that a country can change its immigration policies, but the treatment of all people must always be human.”
