Minecraft players were trapped in a simulation for months. It is a story to the Truman show that accumulated almost one million viewers on YouTube – Minecraft

It seemed a game like any of Minecraft. A player named Sandycarps8 commented on the session with Kargosh1pz and joked about how a spider almost ended them. The expedition continued in the mine, where after getting some resources at a given time the screen was put in black. A few seconds later, they were abroad as if nothing had happened.

The strange thing was not this, but when reappearing again, The game was restarted and his partner did not seem to act normal. Shortly after, another bug would do the same again, and then his friend would no longer be at all. Called Bug Report #1 and housed on a YouTube channel called The Decayed, few suspected it was the first video of a series that kept the spectators hooked for months.

The spectators do not take long to discover that there is someone else watching these players. And that is one of the keys to the series, during the twenty videos that extended the story, as spectators we always know much more than the protagonist, and yet, it is through growing mysteries and an entangled mythology that managed to maintain episode attention after episode.

The loss of your partner is just the beginning. Sandy discovers not only in a loop, but at the mercy of a simulation that becomes more and more strange with each iteration and every attempt to break it. At one point he looks at his friend, unable to intervene. In an episode called Limbo, he discovers a door in the middle of the sky through which he accesses a strange prison, while a chat tells him that he has no administrative access.

The architect of all this is revealed as the architectan individual who is running experiments with others like Sandy, and who saves his baroque reality under the appearance of normal worlds of Minecraft. Later, Sandy meets other more veteran survivors. They have learned to survive in the simulation and communicate outside the architect’s channels. And yet, they are still as trapped as him. Other episodes put us precisely from the architect’s point of view, which we see moving the threads altering the reality of the characters to try to maintain normal.

The rest is an elaborate cat and mouse game. At the same time that the story continues and Minecraft simulation breaks are becoming more complex, we know the real name of Sandy (Andrew) and his trapped friends. As well as that the architect is nothing more than one among many who maintain these experiments for unknown purposes for an entity called The Concept.

The final chapter arrived eight months later and dragged almost one million anxious spectators. The video came without concrete planning, just like the others, but from its farewell text in the description it gave signals. “Les Fleurs” was an elongated episode of half an hour in which Sandy his allies faced the architect, but the really climax reached the end, in which as a good protagonist, Sandy sacrificed himself so that his classmates could escape the simulation.
