From January 20 to 24, the Salesian house of Godelleta hosted the first part of the Salesian Spirituality Training organized by the Delegation for Shared Charisma and Mission. In this third edition they have participated about thirty of educators and administration and service personnel from different houses and entities of the Mary Help of Christians Province (SMX).
Formation in Salesian Spirituality (FES) wants to offer educators and staff of Salesian houses and entities a formative experience that helps to deepen the spiritual and pedagogical dimension of Don Bosco as an always permanent element of current renewal in Salesian educational action. For this, the Delegation has organized this training that has two scheduled parts, a first week of theoretical training on Salesianity, carried out in this month of January, and a second week with the pilgrimage to the Salesian places in Turin.
The participants in the meeting were approached by different speakers to the figure of Don Bosco from many and varied points of view. Among the Salesians who accompanied the attendees were Emili Marcos, José Luis Navarro, Jordi Lleixà, Santiago Muñoz, Miguel Canino, Alexandre Damians, among others.
The week began with a close reception where the FES and its purpose were presented. A family atmosphere was created through different dynamics that allowed initial knowledge of each other. The participants began the second day with the historical vision of Don Bosco that emphasized the need to approach his figure in a rigorous and critical way, accompanied by the necessary knowledge about that perfectly integrated binomial that occurs in Christian-Salesian spirituality. In the afternoon, they visited the Salesian house of San Antonio Abad in Valencia, where the educational projects of the House’s Social Education Platform were presented, concluding with the visit to the FISAT headquarters.
The third day focused on the Preventive System, seeking a necessary update of its fundamental keys, through its application and understanding Salesian Youth Ministry and its dimensions through the joint construction of the mission as a fundamental part of education and evangelization. of young people today. Furthermore, he wanted to bring the participants closer to a practical and real vision of Salesian Spirituality, learning from the risks of “today” in and among the young people of today’s world and Salesian work.
The fourth day was dedicated to the topic entitled ‘Young people and the current world’ giving a global vision of the current situation of youth and the Salesian mission. Next, the topic of youth ministry and evangelization was addressed, giving keys to bringing the gospel to the boys and girls of the Salesian houses. To conclude, the last day the topic ‘The congregation and the Salesian Family in the world’ was discussed, closing the meeting with a conclusion of the days lived in Godelleta.

The training in Salesian spirituality will conclude this coming month of June when the participants make a pilgrimage to Turin on June 28 to visit the most significant Salesian places in the life of Don Bosco. This third edition continues to be a formative and experiential opportunity for educators and staff, both Salesians and lay people, of the SMX Province.
