Silvia Alberca Rit is parishioner from the Risen Christ Parish, in Torremolinos, in which, last Sunday, December 22, at the gates of Christmas, he received the Malacitana Pro Ecclesia medal, granted by Mr. Bishop, D. Jesús Catalá , for its great generosity and its delivery dedicated to the parish.
At Christmas doors, how did you live the delivery of the Malacitana Pro Ecclesia medal?
In the parish everyone knew it, but for me it was a very big surprise. Moreover, I thought it was for another lady of the parish and stopped when I heard my name. I didn’t even know what to say. One of the great surprises of my life because, everything I have done in the church has been from the heart, I have worked hard, the Lord knows it, but from the heart. My pastor, D. Rafael Navarro, gave me a very exciting hug for me.
Since when is part of your parish?
Since the first stone was put. My husband, who is in Gloria, told me “Silvia, when this parish is finished, we offer to serve it”, he could not see her finished but I joined her and here I continue. I started as a pastor D. Adrián Troncoso, who was the one who opened it and remained with all the other parish priests that have passed: Mr. José Pulido, Mr. Juan Zambrana, and now Mr. Rafael Navarro. My parish is a family and I have always got along very well with all the priests.
What is your parish?
Our parish is a family and Father Rafael a charm is in all the details and is affectionate and attentive. I am very happy to have been a catechist since 1988 until about 4 or 5 years ago. I am already 88 years old and there are many children that I have met in catechesis and from which I have learned a lot. I have also helped in the liturgy and I have been available for everything that was needed. The parish has always been my second home and in it I have lived many hours. The parish has changed my life for good. Before I went to Mass from time to time now, the day we don’t miss Mass.
What is your thanksgiving to God?
I thank God for as many good things as it gives me and because he looks at me with eyes of mercy. I have no words to thank him. I have achaques, without going into details, but I don’t stop thanking God for being as I am.
