In a ceremony marked by the spirituality and fervent participation of the educational community, the Monterrey University celebrated the consecration of the Prepa chapel You Valle Alto, where there were moments of reflection and gratitude.
The event was held on Friday morning and began with the Matachines procession by the gardens of the educational campus, accompanied by Monsignor Rogelio Cabrera López, archbishop of Monterrey, and the presbyter Alejandro Beltrán, chaplain of the Youamong other religious, to end in the chapel.
During the Eucharistic celebration, Álvaro Fernández Garza, President of the Council, were present You; The Rector Mario Páez González; Different Vice -Rectors and Vice Chancellors, among them, Roble Garza Treviño, Vice Chancellor for Higher Secondary Education, as well as teachers and collaborators of the PREPA You Alto Valle and this house of studies.
In his homily, Monsignor Cabrera López stressed that this chapel evokes the “meeting store”, a symbol of dynamism and spirituality that inspires young people to meet God; Thus, this construction seeks to be a point of reference and a daily meeting place with the Lord.
The archbishop also emphasized that, in a university center, the chapel “wants to mean the inseparable union between faith and reason, between wisdom and science”, which highlighted the balance between knowledge and spirituality that promotes the You.
Cabrera López said that the chapel will be a meeting place and prayer, an oasis in the middle of the desert: “Take wisdom so that all the knowledge they acquire is totally certified by God,” the presbyter encouraged the young people present.
He concluded his speech by mentioning that “the chapel wants to be that meeting store with the Lord, so that God with his word inscribes in each young man his law of love”, which reflects the spiritual purpose of this sacred space.
Rector Páez González thanked Monsignor Cabrera López for the consecration of the chapel and for the proximity they have always had with the Youespecially on this day when the prelate turned years.
