The “Young Campa” marks a new chapter in the revitalization of the San José de Gándara monastery

From January 31 to February 2, the first youth camp organized by the Youth Pastoral Team of the Diocese of Chascomús, within the framework of the value of the value of the San José de Gándara monastery, is held. This meeting, titled “Young Campa”brings together young people from different parts of the province of Buenos Aires under the motto “Pilgrims of Hope”in line with the jubilee year that the diocese celebrates in this 2025.

This event marks the beginning of a new camp modality in the region, offering participants a meeting space, reflection and recreational activities in a place full of history and spirituality. Among the scheduled activities, the Mass held yesterday stands out in the renewed Church Our Lady of the Rosary, a central point within the religious complex.

On December 28, 2024, the long -awaited jubilee year of the Diocese of Chascomús began, a celebration that summons the entire community to live a time of spiritual renewal. Under the motto “Pilgrims of Hope”proposed by Pope Francis, this event gives way to a revitalization process of the San José Monastery. An ambitious project that began in May of last year, with the purpose of transforming this historic site into a removal and rehabilitation center, offering a space of hope and healing to the faithful.

Located in a picturesque landscape, the San José monastery and its chapel, the imposing Nuestra Señora del Rosario Church, are symbols of a rich inheritance that has endured over the years. The Chapel, inaugurated in 1938 by Francisco Monasterio, grandson of Leonardo Gándara, together with the San José Apostolic School, created by the Agustinos Recoletos parents, make up an architectural set of great beauty and historical importance.

The revitalization of this emblematic place not only seeks to recover its original splendor, but also to return to the community a space of spirituality and reflection, a lighthouse of light and faith that continues to guide all the pilgrims who approach this sanctuary of hope.
