The president of the United States, Donald Trump, accused this Thursday as “politician” of having received part of “the billions of dollars” that, he said, have been “stolen” from the Agency for International Development Help (USAID), as “payment” for treating democrats well informatively.
In a message on his social Truth network, Trump says that “it seems that the ‘periodicucho’ of the left known as Politico received 8 million dollars” and wonders if the New York Times and other media of “false news” also received money for inventing “good stories about the Democrats.”
“It can be the greatest scandal of all of them, perhaps the greatest in history. Democrats cannot escape this. It is too big and too dirty, ”he said in a message written in capital letters and full of admiration points.
The USAID offices in Washington were closed and their activities suspended last Monday after the tycoon Elon Musk, in charge of reforming and making the state more efficient, announced that the president, Donald Trump, has agreed to dismantle it.
USAID is an independent government agency, which was founded in 1963 and has about 10,000 employees and a budget of 50,000 million dollars in 2023.
On the same Monday the Secretary of State, Marco Rubio, announced from El Salvador that he had been in charge of interimly directing the agency.
The USAID is in charge of the international and humanitarian cooperation of the United States government, although sometimes it has been immersed in the financing of projects that seek to destabilize governments.
