A river is dyed red and causes alarm among neighbors

The Sarandí stream, located in the Avellaneda party, south of Buenos Aires, surprised the neighbors at dawn dyed of an intense red color. This phenomenon generated concern among residents, who suspect that the cause could be a discharge of chemical substances from nearby industries, such as tanneries or textile factories.
Local authorities, in collaboration with the Ministry of Environment of the Province of Buenos Aires, took water samples to determine the origin of the coloration. The first hypotheses point to the presence of Aniline, a chemical compound used as a dye in the textile industry, which could have been illegally poured into the stream.
María Ducomls, neighbor of the area, expressed concern: “Today we have like this, the red water. He has been gray, has been green, has been a medium violet, bluish, when the water is rotten, with fat. Also, well brown, of all kinds oil seems above. ”
The Sarandí stream leads to the Río de la Plata and crosses residential areas and an ecological reserve, which increases concern for possible environmental effects and community health. The authorities continue to investigate to identify those responsible and take the necessary measures to prevent future pollution incidents.
This event highlights the need for greater surveillance and regulation of industrial activities in the region to protect water resources and guarantee the safety of the inhabitants.
