President Donald Trump announced Friday that he will sign a decree against ecological paper straws promoted by his predecessor Joe Biden, and promised that the United States will use plastic again.
“Back to plastic,” Trump said on his social truth platform.
The US president is a skeptical of climate change that qualifies the energy transition as “scam” and promised to boost oil and gas production.
His predecessor, the Democrat Biden, had set the objective, by decree, to eliminate as much as possible the use of single -use plastic utensils, including the straws, in federal departments and organizations by 2035.
The straws, like the vessels and covered covers, are an essential part of the daily life of the Americans, great consumers of drinks and food to carry, and fans of home foods.
The non -recyclable disposable straw has become one of the main world symbols of plastic pollution, especially in the oceans.
