22 years have passed since February 8, 2003, when little Monica Milagros Serrano García, a year and a half, was taken from the patio that shared her grandmother’s house and her aunt, in hills of Loma Bonita (Vista Cheerful, Arraiján). Since then, the family has not stopped living in uncertainty. His father, Castor Serrano, died in 2023 without having managed.

In 2020 another young woman appeared, named Grifina López, in the Guna region of Wargandí, whose physical resemblance generated strong suspicions, although genetic analysis also denied the link with the Serrano family.
During the official investigation, the Public Ministry arrested 10 people to interrogate them, but it was never known what really happened. One of the most shocking statements indicated that the girl could have been sold to third parties, although there was never enough evidence to confirm that version.
