After finishing his participation in the Mexican series “The Lord of the Skies”, Cuban actor Roberto Escobar is immersed in the recordings of his new project, “descendants”, a police cut production that stars together with Puerto Rican actress Ana Soler.
The artist, who lived his childhood and part of his adolescence in Puerto Rico, told us about the film that is being filmed in Colombia.
“The series ‘descendants’ is produced by glow films of Colombia. The story takes place in a house that my late ‘wife’ (who died in an accident) inherits. My character moves to that house with his two daughters. There are very strange things and with the passage of time we find out for the townspeople of history that hides that house and its old residents. I have the leading character in history and work with the Puerto Rican Ana Soler, who does my wife’s role. She is a great actress that I admire and respect, ”he said.
The artist added that a cinematographic version is being shot simultaneously: “The series version is from the point of view of my character and that of my daughters. The cinematographic is from the police point of view and the characters that investigate the events that occur in the house in that retired town. Everything is being filmed in Río Negro, Antioquia, which is one hour from Medellín. ”
Regarding the success obtained for its characterization of the “Commander Valdés” in “The Lord of the Skies” said that “I enjoyed it very much, since I was very well written by Luis Zelcowics, who was the creator and writer of the series. People remind me of the character every time they see me on the street. It was a great pleasure to work with many actors with whom he had previously worked. I shared many scenes with Marisela Berti, who rests in peace, a great well -known actress in Puerto Rico, and with the protagonist Rafael Amaya, a very pleasant person and with a good sense of humor. We achieved very good scenes. I understand that the series as such came to an end, but there are conversations to produce another series about the Casillas dynasty, ”he added.
Another character that, he said, enjoyed a lot was that of “Antonio José Villaseñor” in the soap opera “Silvana without wool”, starring Puerto Rican actor Carlos Ponce and actress Maritza Rodriguez
“I played the role of ‘Silvana’ husband. It was very fun to work on that project. Many times we had to resume the scenes several times for laughter attacks. That happens a lot when you are recording a comic series, ”he said.
Of all the characters that he has characterized in more than twenty films, one of his favorites is “George Martin” of the series “Green Fire”.
“That was recorded in the emeraldyrah of Colombia. He is a film director who travels to Colombia to film a movie and falsely accuse him of killing a senator while signed a peace treaty, and is persecuted by law and patterns in the area. He is a character who had to impersonate other characters to avoid being captured. Many beautiful memories of that filming in Colombia, ”he concluded.
