At least one person has died and several were injured after a medium -sized private plane collided with another plane when arriving at Scottsdale airport in Arizona on Monday afternoon.
A person died and three were injured, said Public Information officer at Scottsdale Airport, Kelli Kuester. The three injured people were taken to the hospital, Kuester added.
The Learjet 35a plane that arrived from Austin, Texas, deviated from the track and collided with a Jet Gulfstream G200 parked, Kuester explained at a press conference on Monday.
“It seems that the leftist main landing train failed to land, which resulted in the accident,” Kuester said.
According to the records of the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), the plane is currently registered in the name of Chromed in Hollywood, Inc., based in Franklin, Tennessee. CNN reviewed commercial documents of Chromed in Hollywood Inc, which list Vince Neil as company director. Vince Neil is the main singer of Mötley Crüe and resides in Franklin, Tennessee.
“For unknown reasons at this time, the plane deviated from the track causing him to collide with another parked plane. On board Mr. Neil’s plane were two pilots and two passengers, ”said a representative of Neil, World Robinson, in a statement to CNN on Monday. “Mr. Neil was not on the plane.”
The investigation is ongoing, Robinson added. CNN has communicated with the NTSB for more information.
“The thoughts and prayers of Mr. Neil are with all those involved, and they are grateful for the critical help of all the lifeguards who attended today,” Robinson added.
The National Transport Security Board (NTSB) is at the scene and leads the incident investigation, according to Kuester.
FAA has paused flights to the airport, he added.
