‘A Minecraft movie’ continues unstoppable at the Spanish box office

Fever by ‘Chicken Jockey’ is also a reality in Spain. After the successful debut of ‘A Minecraft movie’ that augured Spanish cinemas to their best data of the year, The weekend of April 11 to 13 is also positive for the box office, with a total collection of 6.2 million euros. Compared to the 2.8 million that were achieved the same weekend of 2024, the difference is to throw rockets. Of course, it is not given by greater assistance to cinema in general, but by the success of a specific film.
Of those 6.2 million euros raised over the weekend, 2,66 belong to the tape directed by Jared HESS, 43% of the totalwhat speaks to the clear of the phenomenon with which Warner has been found almost without waiting. It is already the highest grossing film of the year in the West and of course in Spain, where despite the 46% decrease with respect to its premiere it has already 8.5 million euros accumulated. And Holy Week will only increase that figure.
The mastery of ‘A Minecraft movie’ has prevented a debutant from reaching number 1. The battle for being the best premiere of the weekend has taken it in extremis the Spanish ‘a funeral of crazy’ with € 693,800surpassing ‘Amateur’ for less than 10,000 euros. Both have folded at the box office to ‘Snow White’, which falls to fourth place with € 303,971. Holy Week will help Disney adapt to reach 5 million euros. Spain has not been the worst market for a very politicized tape from the beginning.
Fifth in the ranking is ‘The appointment’, the new Blumhouse thriller, which achieves € 274,956 in its first weekend. The last premiere of the Top 10 is closely linked to the dates we are in. The first two episodes of season 5 of ‘The Chosen’, entitled ‘The Last Supper’, have been released in rooms in the best possible way, with a collection of € 214,772 and € and An € 1,351 cinema average.

‘A Working Man’, the new film starring Jason Statham, falls to the seventh position with € 19778 and a 49% decrease in its third week. Best route is having ‘Wolfgang (Extraordinary)’, the most grossing Spanish film than we have been in 2025. In its fifth week in cinemas it falls 41% and obtains € 196,930 that are used to overcome the 3 million barrier in the accumulated, the first national film that achieves it.
The renowned poster seemed to indicate that ‘Nobody’s land’ had an advantage to harvest those numbers, but the film starring Luis Zahera and Karra Elejalde must settle for 176,482 euros in its third week and 1.28 million in the total. Closing the top 10 is the winner of the Gold Biznaga of the Malaga Festival, ‘Sorda’, which achieves the softest decrease in ranking, only 32%to add 104,957 euros in its second week.

Vampires, soldiers and spies
We are not going to get bored this Holy Week, of course. The premieres are ahead of Holy Wednesdayand what better way than with ‘Los Linadores’, Ryan Coogler’s film starring Michael B. Jordan and Hailee Steinfeld. If the vampires are not yours, you have a quality war cinema with ‘Warfare: War Time’, a thriller in the purest Soderbergh style with ‘Confidential (Black Bag)’, a Spanish comedy such as ‘The CasePlón’ and other striking proposals such as ‘Parenostre’, ‘prodigious’, ‘The traveler’ and ‘The white roses fall!’
