Cardi B sends love to the Dominican Republic after the tragic collapse of the ceiling of the Jet Set Club in Santo Domingo, which had left at least 66 deceased people and more than 160 injured at the time of publication.
The rapper, whose father is Dominican, shared a message of mourning with his community BG Secret Society on Instagram on Tuesday (April 8), according to a screenshot shared by Complex.
“I am literally crying while I make scroll down in me Timeline And I see my Dominican people being rescued, some alive and others who have left, “he wrote.” I’m sad seeing families crying desperately by pain looking for their loved ones … I feel that every Dominican in the world is in a great Holy Hour praying for the survivors and praying so that those who have left are in the glory of God. For people who lost a relative or friend, do not have bad memories: they left this world singing and dancing, and most likely happy and enjoying, and that’s how the Lord will receive them. ”
Cardi also paid tribute to the Merengue singer Rubby Pérez, who according to reports died when the ceiling collapsed approximately one hour after his presentation at midnight at the club. “It’s so heartbreaking to see one of our iconic artists (Rubby) Pérez to go in such a tragic way,” he wrote. “However, I am glad that our last memory of him is sharing his beautiful voice with us … he sang one last time. I want my fans to pray for those who were in that building last night ❤️💙.”
Authorities urge anyone for updates on loved ones missing to contact the emergency operations center in Santo Domingo.
