Jennifer Lopez is ready to return to the American Music Awards as host and artist. The Puerto Rican origin will lead this year’s awards ceremony, which will be broadcast live from Las Vegas on Monday, May 26, the day of the fallen in the United States, by the CBS chain and the Paramount+streaming service. Previously Lopez drove the Amas in 2015, when he opened the show with “Waiting for Tonight”, followed by a dance medley of the 14 greatest successes of that year.
“We are delighted to welcome Jennifer Lopez as a driver of the American Music Awards,” said Jay Penske, CEO of Dick Clark Productions, in a statement. “Jennifer’s incredible talent and her incomparable presence on stage make her the ideal host for the show. We know that she will bring her unique energy to this official celebration that marks the beginning of summer.”
Lopez hinted his return as a host in American Music Awards 50th Anniversary Special Transmitted the autumn past by CBS, one of the most watched entertainment specials of the year. The singer has acted in the Amas on more than 10 occasions.
In addition, he has won three American Music Awards: Favorite Pop/Rock WomenJ.Lo) and movie No. 1 at the American box office (The Wedding Planner).
This will be the first regular transmission of the American Music Awards in two and a half years, from the November 2022 show conducted by the comedian Wayne Brady. It will also be the first time that you love themselves by CBS. The program was issued in ABC from 1974 to 2022.
In addition, it will be the first time that the event is held on the day of the fallen (Memorial Day). The plan is that the show is broadcast every year in this national holiday to pay tribute to the troops and veterans of the United States, in addition to celebrating the most outstanding musical stars of the year. The program was broadcast in January or February every year from 1974 to 2003, and then in October or November from 2003 to 2022.
The legendary producer Dick Clark created the event, whose winners are chosen by the vote of the fans.
The 2025 AMAs will be transmitted globally on linear and digital platforms. More details will be announced soon.
Paramount+ subscribers with Showtime can access live broadcast through the live signal of their CBS local affiliate in the service, as well as on demand content. Subscribers of Paramount+ Essential will not have the option of seeing the live show, but will have access to the On Demand version the day after the transmission.
The American Music Awards are produced by Dick Clark Productions, which is owned by Penske Media Eldridge, a joint company between Eldridge Industries and Penske Media, the Billboard Matrix Company.
