Cardi B and Zoe Saldaña join the mourning for tragedy in Dominican

The Cardi B rapper and actress Zoe Saldaña joined the chorus of voices in duel for the tragedy that shakes the Dominican Republic, where the collapse of a disco left more than 200 dead.

The artists, of Dominican origin, expressed their mourning on Instagram with a black film in their stories.

“Today we break our hearts for the tragic collapse of the roof of the Jetset disco in the Dominican Republic,” Zaldaña published Wednesday.

“In times of loss, we must unite in solidarity and compassion,” he added.

The 46 -year -old actress showed her roots upon receiving an Oscar last month for her role in the Netflix tape “Emilia Pérez”.

“I am the first American of Dominican origin to accept an academy award, and I know that I will not be the last,” said Saldaña before his Hollywood peers.

The roof of the Jet Set disco in Santo Domingo collapsed the early hours of Tuesday, during a presentation by Rubby Pérez, one of the most important merengue voices.

Pérez, 69, was one of the 221 fatal victims of the tragedy that enluta to the Caribbean.

Musicians from the region turned to networks to express their condolences.

“In prayer for all those affected and their relatives,” published the Dominican merenguero Juan Luis Guerra on Instagram.

“What sadness about RD. There are no words that comfort before such a tragedy,” wrote the reggaeton Bad Bunny in X.

“It only remains to be desired a lot of strength for family members and loved ones of the victims.”

“There are not enough words to express sadness when seeing the tragedy in the Jet Set,” Daddy Yankee published on Instagram.

“My prayers are with the victims, their families and with all my dear Dominican people. Today more than ever, we are with you. Force, RD,” the Puerto Rican musician continued.

Salsero Marc Anthony published the Dominican flag in black and white, while Don Omar sent his “prayers” to “all those affected by the tragedy in Santo Domingo”.
