Katy Perry prepares for the Blue Origin space mission

Mexico City, April 11 (El Universal) .- The countdown to the first space flight begins with a crew composed only of women, which is expected to take away successfully next Monday 14. Singer Katy Perry will be one of the lucky ones to live this historical experience, and recently revealed how it is being prepared mentally to face it.

Katy, who has also been promoting the journey with Blue Origin on social networks, explained that he motivates herself thinking about the impact that her participation could have on other people. In addition, he is reading astrophysic works and connecting with his “female divinity” before embarking on the adventure.

The interpreter of “I Kissed A Girl” will share the flight with the journalist Gayle King and the driver Lauren Sánchez, promised of Jeff Bezos.

Speaking to AP, the singer said: “I speak to me every day and say:” You are brave, you are bold, you are doing this for the next generation, to inspire many different people, but especially girls, to say: ‘I will also go to space in the future.’ Without limitations “.

On the other hand, he mentioned that he is reading scientists, including the late astronomer Carl Sagan. “I am very excited by engineering behind all this. I am excited to learn more about science, technology, engineering and mathematics necessary to achieve something like that,” he explained.

Katy acknowledged that it is an intimidating experience, but said that when he faces challenges like this, he resorts to his inner strength: “Using that feminine divinity with which I was born and that it definitely intensified when I had my daughter (Daisy). Being a mother elevates you in that kind of power.”

He also said that he is reading a book about string theory, and reaffirmed his interest in astronomy, astrology and the universe. “We are all made of stars dust and come from the stars,” he said.

The artist said she was honored for being invited and being part of this mission: “I feel very grateful, with the feet on the ground and honest of having been included with this incredible group of women.”

The New Shepard rocket, the first to transport an exclusively female crew from the historic flight of Valentina Tereshkova in 1963, is designed to float in space for approximately four minutes before returning to Earth. The launch is scheduled for Monday from western Texas.
