Tina Knowles and the rumors about Beyoncé’s solo career

Knowles also pointed out that Beyoncé, now 43, “delayed” the release date of his first solo album, ‘Dangerously in Love ‘so that “his sister Kelly could make the most of the impulse of his own success” (Rowland, 44, and Williams, 45, launched their first solo albums in 2002, while Dangerously in Love came out the following year).

Beyoncé and Rowland had been part of Destiny’s Child since 1990, when it was called ‘Girls Tyme’. Meanwhile, Williams joined the group in 2000 along with Farrah Franklin after Letoya Lukett and Latavia Roberson.

Although Knowles did not detailed the reason for the departures of Lukett and Roberson in his book, he refuted the idea that Beyoncé caused the separation or that he was happy to see them leave them.

“Beyoncé saw him as the end of a 10 -year marriage and began to regret it as such,” Knowles wrote. “The rumors and negative stories seized the situation, portraying Beyoncé as the Dad girl who made demands, and even ran the rumor that Kelly stayed alone because she was Mathew’s biological daughter of an adventure. Everything was incredibly hurtful.”

Tina continued to say that “Beyoncé barely left her room, curled up in her bed” after Roberson and Lukett left the band, while his father, while his father, Mathew Knowles“He seemed paralyzed; his mind full of ideas stopped.”

According to Tina, she led the impulse to find new members for ‘Destiny’s Child’, and soon, Williams and Franklin, 43, joined the group. Franklin left the band after a few months and DC continued as a trio. About Franklin, Tina writes: “Unfortunately, it didn’t work, and I always wish him the best on his way.”

In 2002, Lukett and Roberson filed a lawsuit against Beyoncé, Rowland and Mathew, accusing them of breach of association and fiduciary duties. The case was resolved at the end of that year.

Last year, however, Lukett confirmed that there are no resentments with Beyoncé or Rowland, sharing a photo that showed his reunion with the duo as well as with Williams and Roberson.

“✨All Amor✨ This was, without a doubt, my favorite moment of 2023 ❤️,” Lukett wrote in his Instagram publication in January 2024, adding that he felt “love”, “joy” and “healing” in the reunion. “That we can all experience beautiful moments like this in 2024.”
