Katy Perry takes Mexicans to Musical Galaxy
Mexico City, April 24 (El Universal) .- It was not a concert. It was a descent. A kind of atmospheric reentry in which Katy Perry, just around the outer space – literal – emerged from the ceiling of the CDMX sand as if he had just crossed another dimension.
Suspended by cables, inside a light cage, dressed in light armor, launched its landing cry: “Mexico!” And the ship – the enclosure – exploded. Only a few minutes had passed, before the light and volume took control of the space, in which the star had a special moment with her team in dressing rooms.
With all his crew in a circle, Katy made a prayer, asked for protection, thanked being alive. He confessed that his voice was resentful of a flu and that the height of Mexico City had her restless, but wanted them to enjoy the show.
It more than fulfilled. There, in that little ritual, fear was shook. None of that – nor the altitude, nor the pressure, nor the throat – was noticed once he stepped on the stage.
Katy’s image resonated between laser lights, infinite screens and a dystopian narrative that opened the way to her fifth world tour: The Lifeses Tour.
The CDMX Arena was transformed last night, from 10:00 p.m., in a futuristic scenario, in which technological butterflies took control, giving life to an intro in the form of a video game. On screen: a cybernetic Perry, assembled piece by piece, which fell into the void to the rhythm of an ominous “game over”, a prelude to what began.
At that moment, the true Katy emerged from the ceiling, suspended by cables, singing “artificial” from a luminous cage. The cry of “Mexico!” which launched from the heights lit a deafening wave that did not go down all night. The fans fulfilled in this show on another planet.
Dresses with references to “California Gurls”, “Last Friday Night”, “Roar” and “Teenage Dream”, with rabbit ears, butterfly wings and even hunger hats, showed that Perry fever is still more alive than ever, regardless of criticism or headlines that have continued even in space.
Accompanied by dancers with 3D lenses and ghostbuster -style backpacks, the “Firework” performer appeared between the scenario in the form of infinity, reappearing to sing “Chained to the Rhythm” with a metallic look.
The heart of the show came with “Tear Eyes”, followed by one of the most anticipated: “Dark Horse”.
The cell phones rose as a constellation of lights, trying to capture a moment that seemed out of another dimension. With silver extensions, a bright body and a heart harness, Perry toured his own musical multiverse.
