This award recognizes women in the music industry for their outstanding success and significant cultural influence, and this time, it was awarded to Gomez, who, despite not being able to attend in person, shared their gratitude through an emotional message on video.
In his message, Gomez expressed his gratitude to Billboard and regretted not being able to be present due to filming commitments in New York. He also highlighted the launch of his EP “revelation” as one of the most significant moments of his career, feeling that through him he could convey something he always wanted about his inheritance and family.
The ceremony, which was led by Ana Barbara, a woman of the year 2024, was broadcast live on Telemundo and celebrated various outstanding figures of Latin music. Together with Selena Gómez, artists such as Celia Cruz (Legend Award), Belinda (Evolution Award), Natti Natasha (unstoppable artist), Anitta (Vanguardist Award), Chiquis (Impact Award) and Ha*Ash (Unbreakable Prize) were honored, thus recognizing the impact and trajectory of these women in the Latin music industry, Billboard reported.
