Mexico.- Shakira faces a controversy that touches her in the most personal. According to the creator of content Luis Castillejo, known as El Temach, the Colombian singer would have filed a lawsuit against her, after issuing comments considered sexist and homophobic about her youngest son, Sasha.
Although so far there are no official confirmations or by Shakira’s lawyers or nearby sources, the issue has unleashed a wave of social networks reactions, where most support the artist’s actions in defense of her family.
What did the Temach that unleashed indignation unleashed?
The controversy began after the publication of a video in which the Temach criticized the body expression of little Sasha, calling it “dawned.” In addition, he hinted that the child’s behavior was due to the lack of a father figure and the absence of activities considered “masculine.”
These comments were quickly qualified as macho, homophobic and discriminatory, not only by network users, but also by figures from the artistic and legal world. The generalized criticism stressed publicly attacking a minor, reinforcing harmful stereotypes.
The Temach responds and aggravates the controversy
Far from retracting, the Temach published another video where he states that Shakira demanded him and requested legal support from his followers, especially lawyers, to face the supposed process. However, it did not present any concrete evidence that confirmed the existence of said demand.
This second video was interpreted by many as an attempt to victimize and capitalize the situation, causing even more public rejection of influencer.
Shakira sends a message of protection and respect
Shakira’s possible legal action would not only seek to stop offensive messages, but also send a forceful sign of the importance of protecting minors from digital harassment. For many, this position could mark a precedent on how public attacks on celebrities should be legally addressed.
In addition, this case puts on the table again the need to regulate the contents in social networks and to remember that freedom of expression should not be used to justify speeches of hate, discrimination or symbolic violence.
An important precedent in defense of childhood
The situation between Shakira and the Temach reveals an urgent debate: the respect and protection of children in the digital age. Although there is still no official confirmation of demand, the message is clear: media exposure should never be an excuse to violate minors. And if the Colombian artist continues with her legal action, she could become an important example for other public figures that face similar attacks.
