A Minecraft Movie continues to exceed the expectations at the box office and has now raised more than $ 700 million in three weeks in cinemas, preparing to cross the $ 1000 million brand.
“It is one of those things. There was an immense audience that was so passionate about the game and for whom Minecraft was a key part of his adolescence, simply something they loved,” director Jared HESS said to Deadline. “The game itself is so creative, but it is also ridiculous and really fun and absurd in many ways. That was much of the appeal for me by adapting it.”
“I think that one of the things that people are responding is how serious the characters take this ridiculous world,” HESS added. “Jack (Black) is interpreting everything with such passion. And when we were filming, it was like, ‘You know what, Jack, let’s put a little more emphasis on that.’ And he simply leads everything, all the time.

Taking advantage of this creativity, Minecraft Movie was an instant success, debuting with more than $ 300 million at the global box office. Three weeks later, this success has continued, adding a Gross Global Total of $ 721 million and counting.
