Classical music and contemporary pop collide in a performance that mixes genres and reimagines the limits of symphonic experience. The public can expect a complete orchestral interpretation of Beethoven’s seventh symphony with the melodies and rhythms of Beyoncé’s great hits.
Beethoven X Beyoncé presented within the frame of the New World Symphony the series Late Night From ‘S takes place on Fridays, November 7 to the New World Center. The program is the creation of the director, composer and producer Steve Hackman, known for fusing classical and popular music in bold hybrid works. Through innovative arrangements and transitions, Hackman combines themes of Beethoven’s symphony with vocal lines, harmonies and textures of the Beyoncé catalog, resulting in a unified piece that is both interpretive and original.
Hackman’s previous projects have matched Brahms with Radiohead, Tchaikovsky with Drake and Bartók with Björk, which earned him a national reputation for redefining the orchestral programming. Their performances are aimed at joining musical audiences and inviting the exploration of all genres, and Beethoven X Beyoncé He continues with that spirit with a live orchestral experience designed for a nightclub.
