Billie Eilish He gave a moment loaded with emotion to his fans during his concert in Paris on Monday night (June 10), interpreting an stripped version of the “The only exception” ballad, from the iconic album Brand New Eyes of Paramore.
In the first of two nights at the Arena Accor, Eilish interrupted his usual set to pay tribute to the legends of the emotion. Sitting in a circle with her band, the singer toured the melancholic melody while the public quickly recognized this 2009 favorite classic. A video of the performance quickly went viral in networks, receiving samples of affection from both fans and artists. Among them, Hayley Williamssinger of Paramorewho shared the clip on his Instagram Stories, labeling Billie and writing: “@billieeilish I love you, they made it so beautiful.”
It is not the first time that the two artists share a moment together: in Coachella 2022, Eilish invited Williams to the stage to interpret “Misery Business” from Paramore with “Happier Than Ever”, typical of Billie. Then, in 2023, Williams returned the gesture by taking Eilish during the paramore show in Los Angeles to sing “All I Wanted.”
The Parisian version arrived in the middle of the set of 25 songs on the tour Hit me hard and softin support of your third studio album, which bears the same name. Launched on May 17, 2024, Hit me hard and soft is the successor of When we all fall asleep, where do we go? (2019) and Happier than Ever (2021). The album reached number 2 in the Billboard 200.
Previously, Eilish had managed to reach number 1 of Billboard 200 with his debut album When we all fall asleep, where do we go? and with Happier than Everin addition to becoming the youngest artist in history to sweep the four main general categories of the Grammy in the same night. In the Billboard Hot 100, to date it has charged 36 songs, highlighting “Bad Guy”, which reached first place in 2019.
