Caravaca de la Cruz leaves its mark on the most important event in the tourism sector internationally, FITUR 2025. With an original proposal and with the motto of its new tourism brand ‘The way is made’, the Department of Tourism of the Caravaca City Council transfers the essence of the Camino de la Cruz to the heart of Madrid, with a high-impact promotional action that takes place for two days in the emblematic and busy El Retiro Park.
Coinciding with the Madrid International Tourism Fair, the Caravaca City Council has designed an immersive experience that recreates, on several roads in the park, the Camino de la Cruz. The thousands of visitors who pass through El Retiro every day can tour this signposted representation and meet actors dressed as pilgrims who, in addition to providing information about the municipality and its tourist offer, give people a chance to taste the traditional yemas of Caravaca and transmit the spirit of a destination with centuries of history.
The mayor of Caravaca de la Cruz, José Francisco García, together with a delegation from Caravaca and a representation of the regional government, was the first to visit this innovative promotional action on the street, which leaves the IFEMA pavilions to meet with the people of Madrid. and with the hundreds of thousands of people who visit the capital of Spain these days.
