Cardi b must pay marital support to offset after losing trial in Georgia

The divorce between Cardi B and Offset has taken an unexpected turn that has shaken the entertainment industry. A court in Georgia resolved in favor of Offset, ordering that the renowned rapper grant him a marital maintenance, despite the millionaire income that both artists generate separately.

What in principle seemed like a friendly separation, without major economic complications, became a silent legal battle when Offset, a member of the famous Migos Group, decided to request financial support alleging significant economic inequality between them. Although official documents do not specify the exact amount of the pension, the sentence forces Cardi B to make periodic payments to its ex -husband.

A determining patrimonial difference

According to reports, the estimated assets of Cardi B round between 80 and 100 million dollars, far exceeding approximately 30 million dollars attributed to Offset. This difference was decisive for the Court to consider the request for maintenance, protected by the state laws of Georgia, which allow this type of financial compensation when a notable imbalance in the resources of the spouses is verified after the marriage solution.

One of the reasons that Offset submitted in his application was the desire to maintain the standard of living he was accustomed to during his marriage to Cardi B. Sources close to the process assure that the rapper is not willing to give up his “bad and elegant” lifestyle, which was a central argument in his legal strategy to justify the pension.

Agreement on the custody of your children

The ruling also included decisions about the custody of the couple’s children. Both artists will have shared legal custody, although it was established that minors reside mainly with Cardi B. As transcended, this measure was proposed by the offset itself, prioritizing the emotional stability and routine of children.
