The American singer Chris Brown, accused of “serious injuries” in the United Kingdom, will remain arrested until June 13, date of a next hearing, a judge of the Magistrates Court of Mercanters decided on Friday in northern England.

Brown, 36, Rihanna’s ex -partner, suspect from an aggression to a musical producer at a London nightclub in February 2023, was arrested Thursday at a Manchester hotel and after being accused, he appeared this Friday before a court in that city.

The R&B star, with an important history of complaints of acts of violence, is accused of “serious intentional injuries” as a result of an alleged aggression to the music producer Abe Diaw in the Tape disco, in the exclusive neighborhood of Mayfair, in the center of the center of London.

The artist, known for the successes “Run It!” and “Kiss Kiss”, and winner of two Grammy awards, would have allegedly released a bottle at the head of the producer and would have hit him while he was on the floor.

Subject “Too serious”

The district judge, Joanne Hirst, ruled that the alleged crime was a “too serious” issue to be addressed in her room, so she sent the case to the Court of the Crown of Southwark, in London, for an audience on June 13.

The magistrate rejected a request for bail filed by Brown’s lawyers.

The singer, dressed in a black sports t -shirt and pants, confirmed to the judge that his name is Christopher Maurice Brown, provided his date of birth and gave as direction a Manchester hotel.

The prosecutor, Hannah Nicholls, said that the alleged victim was in the bar of the disco on February 19, 2023, when the defendant initiated an “unpaved attack” against the complainant, which would have been beaten several times with a bottle.

“The defendant then pursued him to another area of ​​the nightclub, where the victim was beaten and repeatedly kicked by him and another person,” added the prosecutor.

Brown, who began his career in the 2000s and has sold dozens of millions of records worldwide, was then touring in the United Kingdom.
