Mexico City was owned by Katy Perry. On the outskirts of the CDMX sand Everything looked like a map of pastel, neon and sequins, as if it had been hacked by a Retro-Futurist video game programmed by the American singer.
Outside the enclosure there was no talk of anything else: between rabbit ears, crowns with LEDs, blankets stamped with the image of the artist and the classic images of a “Santa Katy“fans prepared for the first concert of The Lifeses Toura tour that starts in Mexico.
From early, the perimeter became a classic image of a pop concert: women with butterfly headbands, boys with looks inspired by Teenage Dream and street vendors Throughout the avenue selling all kinds of merchandise, from clothing, bags to the “event officers”.

The first act of the concert was a visual prologue. On the screens: a Katy Perry Cybernetics falls into a vacuum after an ominous “game over.” And just when it seemed to have touched back, the true Katy descended from the roof in an illuminated cage, suspended by cables. He sang artificialand with a “Mexico!” Ignition from the heights, activated the collective cry of 18 thousand people.
Thus the concert began: with a dystopian narrative, with video game aestheticswhere each song unlocked a new “level.” The scenario, in the form of an infinite symbol served so that most attendees feel closer to it.
Without rest, it follows “Teary Eyes”which becomes an emotional trance thanks to its extended intro and outro ARTIFICIAL in its intro.

Almost at the beginning of the concert is when the time of successes comes: “California Gurls”, “Teenage Dream”, “Hot N Cold”, “Last Friday Night” and “I Kissed A Girl”.
In one of the most endearing moments of the show, Katy walked on the catwalk to closely observe her fans and spectacular outfits, many inspired by different ages of her career. She was visibly surprised and excited, thanking the love of the Mexican public and confessing how happy his tour was starting in Mexico. Upon listening to the screams of “Katy, sister, you’re already Mexican!”he could not help laughing and asked someone curious about the public what exactly that phrase that everyone chanted with so much enthusiasm meant.
Subsequently, one of the most curious segments appeared: “Choose your own adventure”where the public voted, via QR, for less known songs. Here, Katy Perry dusted jewels like Not Like The Movies (who did not sing since 2012) and The One That Got Awaywhile improvising interactions with his musicians and even invited Fans to the stage.
They, dressed as astronauts, did not fully understand their questions, which caused tender and viral laughter. Perry improvised, played with them, and gave them a space to play with her.

Each section of the show was carefully designed as a narrative “level”. In Wide AwakeKaty walked the entire catwalk with her dancers running aerial dance. In Rise, he appeared with a robotic hand that fired rays of light. In Roar, the air mounted in a mechanical butterfly, dressed as if he repeated his act of the Super Bowl.

But emotional climax came with All The Lovea song of his most recent album “143”, dedicated to his daughter Daisy Dove. “It’s the best decision I have made,” he said. And for a few minutes, the dystopia became maternal, warm, intimate.
Already towards the closure, the screens showed a final narrative: drones, deserts, invaded cities … Katy Perry I had to light “the light.” And he did so, with Firework. The song exploded between fireworks Physical and emotional, with all the public turned into a constellation of cell phones and voices broken by emotion.
The singer will have another date on CDMX this April 26 at the same enclosure.

Before leaving, the singer did a prayer with her team and thanked the opportunity to live and create. Photo: Instagram.
