(Global) Ethereum is going through a period of high volatilitysince it registers a monthly drop of 15%, although in the last week it has recovered 5%.
According to CoinMarketCap, the altcoin has accumulated a loss of almost 3% in the last 24 hours and is trading just above the 3,300 USD.
OpenAI’s artificial intelligence, ChatGPT-4o, has established two optimistic scenarios for Ethereum in 2025:
- By mid-year: Ethereum could reach $6,000, driven by increased market confidence and an increase in trader activity.
- By the end of 2025: The AI projects a price of up to 10,000 USD, which would mean exponential growth compared to its current value.
Amid these projections, Ethereum ETFs have reported significant outflows, with $354 million withdrawn in just four days. This data reflects some uncertainty around the cryptocurrency and could be an obstacle to its growth.
Despite capital outflows, open interest in Ethereum has increased by 4.76%, reaching $29.65 billion. Additionally, nearly $40 million in short positions were liquidated in the last 24 hours, which could be a sign of optimism in the market.
Analyst predictions
- Bearish Projections: Some analysts suggest that Ethereum price could drop to a low of USD 2338 and reach a maximum of USD 3446 for the end of December. This is attributed to political and economic uncertainty, especially with the election of Donald Trump as president in the US, which could negatively influence the perception of the cryptocurrency market.
- Optimistic Projections: On the other hand, there are more optimistic predictions suggesting that Ethereum could reach up to USD 5538.37 by the end of 2024. These estimates are based on the growing adoption and popularity of Ethereum in the DeFi space and its potential to attract investments.
- Overall Expected Range: According to several sources, the general range for the price of Ethereum at the end of December is estimated between USD 2768 and USD 3374with an average of around USD 2598.
