Delays in the construction of the Mexican enclosure force Katy Perry to cancel concerts

Delays in a problematic project to build an entertainment place with capacity for 20,000 people in Mexico have forced artists, including the American pop star Kary Perry, to cancel the dates of actions planned there.
The Guadalajara Arena, designed by KMD Architects and developed by Avalanz Zignia Live, will house sports, entertainment and cultural events when finished.
However, as reported, it has been affected by delays since the construction began seven years ago and, at one time for 2020, the work stopped due to legal disputes.
Its inauguration was scheduled for September 2024, but its opening date was delayed until February 2025 and then again until April 2025.
It has been known that the performances of several artists scheduled by the end of this month have been canceled because the works did not end in time. Among the canceled concerts include those of Carlos Rivera and untouchable, on April 25 and 26, respectively, and those of Katy Perry, on May 1 and 2.
After announcing a delay in January of this year, Zignia Live declared that she postponed the operations of the enclosure until April 25 because she needed additional time to make the final adjustments. “While we understand the emotion and anticipation generated by the opening of this magnificent enclosure, our priority is to offer a completely ready space to house world -size events,” he said.
Perry confirmed that his May presentations dates have now been canceled in an Instagram post, saying: “Unfortunately, I learned that the construction of Guadalajara sand will not be complete for its scheduled shows next week, which includes mine on May 1 and 2.
“Last week I sent my team to the stadium to make sure we couldn’t do anything to avoid it, but when they arrived, it was clear that the enclosure was not ready or safe to receive my show or the public.”
