Donald Trump allows the automatic renewal of the license to Chevron

The analyst Pablo Andrés Quintero reported this Saturday, February 1, that it was renewed, by the Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC), the general license number 41 that allows the US company Oil Chevron to follow its operations in the territory of Venezuela, Despite the more than 900 sanctions imposed on the country.

This news is generated in the midst of negotiation processes between the Government of Venezuela and the United States since last Friday.

Last Friday, January 31, Richard Grenelll, Trump’s special envoy, arrived in Venezuela to talk with the President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro, at the Miraflores Palace, where five points were agreed after the meeting.

Once the meeting was finished in Caracas, the release of six American citizens was reported. This Saturday, US President Trump announced that Maduro agreed to receive the Venezuelan deportees, including those of the Aragua train and that even Venezuela would facilitate airplanes for such deportations.

What does Chevron do in Venezuela?

Chevron works in association with petroleum subsidiaries of Venezuela (PDVSA), in five land and sea production projects in the west and east of Venezuela, in compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
