President Donald Trump said Monday that he will appoint Richard Grenelll, a long -standing confidant who already served in multiple administrative positions, to direct the Kennedy center for the performing arts temporarily after declaring himself president of the institution at the end of the last week.

“I am pleased to announce that Ric Grenelll will be the interim executive director of Kennedy Center. RIC shares my vision of a golden era of US arts and culture and will supervise the daily operations of the center, ”Trump wrote in Truth Social.
“No more drag shows or other anti -American propaganda things. Just the best, ”Trump wrote. “Ric, welcome to the entertainment world!”
On Friday, Trump announced that he would dismiss the Board of Directors of the Kennedy Center and would be installed as its president. On Monday, a list of previous members of the Board was erased from the center’s website.
One of the most immediate tasks of the Board of Directors was to identify a replacement for the president of the Center, Deborah Rutter, who announced last month his intention to resign. The Board had hired a personnel search company to help you identify a new leader.
Grenell currently works as a Trump envoy for special missions, a role that recently led him to Venezuela to meet with the country’s leaders focused on part on the release of arrested Americans.
He has also acted as representative of the Trump administration in California while the State recovers from forest fires in Los Angeles.
