Episode 11 of the irrational season 2 transformed a strange trope into its most convincing mystery so far

The premise of episode 11 of the irrational season 2 sounded like something out of science fiction.

Not only was the issue of heart memory, but it would also be a convincing episode instead of a ridicule.

However, the irrational won me, and “Straight from the Heart” ended up being one of my favorite episodes of the season, Full Stop.

A tormented woman found peace after solving the murder of her donor in episode 11 of irrational season 2.

Whatever Renee was experiencing was more than Johnny’s memories.

It seemed that he had a full rule of the death of his heart donor.

He had intrusive flashbacks while he was awake and nightmares as he slept, he had insomnia, and seemed to be constantly bursting to control his anxiety responses.

The idea that all this came from a donor heart was a bit out there, but I can forgive the irrational for this strange premise because the mystery was very interesting.

Renee and Alec’s investigation took them to a lot of unique and plausible suspects, and the plot continued to swell.

Megan and his new boyfriend were the most obvious, so in retrospect, they should have known that they were not.

Cookie, the methamphetamine trafficker, would not have called 911 if he kill Johnny. That wouldn’t make much sense.

The pieces were not adjusted correctly, and it was not until Marisa spoke with the former pretty disperchar that everything was clear.

It is not easy to write a mystery that makes sense at the end, but does not do so until the final piece falls in its place. Congratulations to the irrational writers of episode 11 of season 2 to achieve this.

The red herring of the cookies that gave water to Renee, but not being the one that tied it with amphetamines, was especially well done.

Obviously it was so guilty that I was innocent, that it is one of my favorite mysterious tropes.

Whether the memories really came from the donor’s heart, I’m glad Renee has found peace.

Maybe Johnny was disturbing her justice. I am not sure to believe that, but I suppose it is possible.

The big reason why this was Renee was so pleasant

Renee was a fun character, even if he had no idea how to work in the world of research.

Cookie: Are you police?

Renee: No. We are university professors.

He had no idea how to drive around Cookie and his weapon, and his only attempt to investigate on his own took her to the hospital.

That was not completely his fault, of course, since he had been poisoned. Even so, all his attempt to confront Xavier was amateur, and it was a silly luck that his medical emergency ended up clearing his name.

Renee looked like a very pure soul.

Marisa’s son said his adoptive parents were “compulsively honest,” and that description would also fit Renee.

It was so sweet and innocent that I could not help support it, and that is what made this apparently silly premise work so well.

Alec’s change did not leave much for Kylie to do it

Alec worked with Renee during most episode 11 of irrational season 2, only involving Marisa when he needed to know who had poisoned Renee.

For the most part, that was a good idea. The irrational must get into its usual formula sometimes to keep things fresh, and have a random colleague from Alec did it perfectly.

However, Marisa and Kylie were mostly marginalized, especially Kylie.

Marisa had the subtram of meeting the son who resigned from adoption when he was sixteen, but Kylie was in the FBI office without much role.

I think he did something with his computer skills at some point during “Straight from the Heart”, but I can’t remember what.

That is how inconsequential was its part this time, and that is a shame.

Kylie is one of my favorite characters.

She is intelligent, assertive and a strong asset for the team. Perhaps the irrational was to go through the episode through Springer, but I still missed it.

Episode 11 of the irrational season 2 was how memories can be a matter of interpretation

The lesson about the “typical” resonated me strongly.

He had an experience like the students of Alec were talking not long ago.

I couldn’t find my keys, and I remembered putting them in my jacket pocket. Six or seven searches of my jacket were needed to accept that I was remembering badly.

Now I know why that happened, thanks to Alec.

Of course, that was not the point of including the lesson in the episode, but I love that you can learn new facts of neuroscience while solving the mystery in the episode of the irrational of each week.

Rizwan and Phoebe’s demonstration helped boost the point to home that memory is subjective.

People often remember what they hope to have happened instead of what happened, so the testimony of eyewitnesses is so useless.

This lesson is linked to the question of whether Renee really remembers Johnny’s death. There is no logical or scientific explanation for this, but other explanations make equally little sense.

Perhaps our brains land in which it feels closer to our beliefs, and that is why some people think that the experiences like Renee had definitely memories of beyond the grave, while others think that does not have sense.

Marisa’s meeting, her son was not the way someone expected

Irrational season 2 was going to introduce Marisa to Marisa sooner or later. All conversations about him meant it was inevitable.

Even so, I was with Marisa in this. He hoped that she and her son were looking for and finally find themselves, not for him to enter the headquarters of the FBI who looks for her.

As expected, Marisa was scared. Fortunately, he had Alec to help calm her.

Alec: That was a classic fight or flight.

Marisa: And I flew, right?

The end was sweet, with Marisa finally hug her son.

I am curious to know how she will answer when she learns the whole story of why she delivered it for adoption and where her relationship goes from here.
