The founder of the mercenary group Blackwater, today known as Academi, referred to his “Almost Venezuela” initiative to put an end to Nicolás Maduro’s usurpation in the Miraflores palace.
“Yes, ma’am, ‘Almost Venezuela’ will also do its part. Stay strong,” Prince said in response to Machado’s post.
Previously, the opposition leader had been kidnapped at the end of a political rally in Caracas. However, right after Trump’s comments, Chavismo chose to release her and even deny that she was ever in custody.
However, evidence of the kidnapping was widely published on social networks.
Trump’s demand that day was as follows: “Venezuelan democracy activist María Corina Machado and President-elect González are peacefully expressing the voices and WILL of the Venezuelan people with hundreds of thousands of people demonstrating against the regime. The large Venezuelan-American community in the United States overwhelmingly supports a free Venezuela. These freedom fighters must not be harmed and MUST remain SAFE and ALIVE!”
After the illegitimate investiture, the US increased the rewards for Nicolás Maduro, Diosdado Cabello and Vladimir Padrino López.
