From Katy Perry to Chiquis Rivera: Hollywood raises the voice against Trump’s raids

Los Angeles, USA– Hollywood celebrities such as Kim Kardashian, Eva Longoria or Katy Perry and Hispanic artists covering from Pedro Pascal to Gloria Estefan have shown in recent days their support for protests against the migratory raids of the president of the USA, Donald Trump.
The television star Kim Kardashian was one of the last to call the raids of the United States Immigration Service (ICE) in Los Angeles as “inhuman” and defending the contribution of immigrants to American society.

“Growing up in Los Angeles, I have seen how deeply immigrants are integrated into the fabric of this city. They are our neighbors, friends, classmates and work, and family,” he shared in a text spread on his social networks.
A similar message transmitted the American singer Katy Perry, in which he wondered how “a city built on Mexican work, history and culture to turn and criminalize the same people who molded it.”
Phinneas O’Connell, winner of a Grammy and brother of singer Billie Eilish, has not only shown her rejection of Trump’s policies, but also reported that last weekend she was present in the massive protests of Los Angeles.
“They threw tear gas almost immediately against the protest, which was very peaceful, in the center. They are inciting this,” wrote the American singer in their networks, according to The Independent.
Mark Ruffalo, one of the most critical voices with Trump, has also criticized the government’s performance in his social networks and highlighted the inequality of classes that undercover deportations.
The Hispanic community claims to heaven against Trump
Artists with Hispanic roots have raised the voice against the raids and have positioned themselves in favor of the protesters who have been peaceful for six days in the Californian city.
This is the case of Eva Longoria, with Hispanic Roots, which in a video shared in their social networks called to have more compassion for people who migrate to other countries in search of a better life.
“We all agree that nobody wants criminals in our country (…) but it is not what is happening. These raids are happening at birthday parties, in graduations, in stores … those are not criminals,” said the actress.
Also the beloved Chilean-American actor Pedro Pascal shared a video in which several people are seen holding flags from different countries in Latin America, defending a Los Angeles that was built “for the best of the US”.
“They are not criminals, they are the heart of Los Angeles,” the images stand out.
Singer Chiquis Rivera, daughter of the late star Jenni Rivera, made a live video with an expert lawyer to inform about the rights of migrant people in the USA ..
Cuban-American singer Gloria Estefan expressed concern about “loss of humanity” with migratory policies. “I do not recognize my country,” the singer lamented, remembering the moment when she witnessed an operation in which US government officials separated a mother from her baby.
