Gershom Scholem, between mysticism and contemporary conflict. An intellectual biography. » UNSAM News
The course will attempt to investigate the life and searches of the greatest researcher of Jewish mysticism of our times. His explorations of Kabbalah and the esoteric world spanned six decades. They also reflect the great struggles, the persecutions, the powerful ideological conflicts, and the memorable meetings and correspondence with the greatest thinkers of the 20th century. We will discuss his relationship with Walter Benjamin, Theodor Adorno, Hannah Arendt, Jurgen Habermas and others, who give an account of the ebullition of Jewish thought in a very turbulent and tragic century, but at the same time, extremely valuable and interesting.
