New York – The 2025 Tribeca Festival will present in its 24th edition a mixture of music stars, such as Billy Joel, Miley Cyrus and Eddie Vedder.
The New York annual festival, which in 2022 eliminated the word “film” of its name, announced its poster on Wednesday. The festival, which will be held from June 4 to 15, starts with the premiere of “Billy Joel: and So It Goes”, the documentary in two parts of Susan Lacy and Jessica Levin for HBO about the 75 -year -old singer.
The Visual album of Cyrus, “Submithing Beautiful”, co -directed by her; “Matter of Time”, a documentary about a beneficial performance of Vedder; “Billy Idol Should Be Dead”, with a subsequent performance of idol; “Depeche Mode: M”, a film of the band’s concert in Mexico City in 2023; and “Move and Body: The Birth of House”, by Elegance Bratton, filmmaker of “The Inspection”.
Among the most outstanding fiction films are “Tow”, starring Rose Byrne as a homeless woman whose car is towed; “The Best You Can,” starring Kevin Bacon and Kyra Sedgwick, about a New York married to a much older teacher; and “One Spoon of Chocolate”, a thriller written and directed by RZA on a veteran military who was in prison and must take justice by his hand in a small town.
The festival’s closing gala will be the premiere of “Yanuni”, a film produced by Leonardo DiCaprio on the indigenous activist and head of the Brazilian Amazon, Juma Xipaia, who faced multiple murder attempts to defend the land of his people.
