The actress and model Emily Ratajkowski has not hesitated to express her discontent with the recent space mission of Katy Perry, describing her as “garbage” and questioning the purpose of a trip that, according to her, goes against the environmental concerns that both artists say they defend.
In a recent publication, Emily Ratajkowski lashed out at the participation of Katy Perry in the first female mission of Blue Origin, which also included Lauren Sánchez, promised by Jeff Bezos. The mission, which lasted 10 minutes, has been subject to controversy, and Ratajkowski did not hold on when expressing its outrage: “It is more than a parody when you say that you care about Mother Earth and you go in a spacecraft that is built and paid by a company that is destroying the planet alone.”
The model highlighted the incongruity between the statements about the care of the environment and the reality of a space trip that, in her opinion, waste resources at a critical moment for the planet. “I think about how the world is and how many resources have been destined to take these women to space, for what? What is the purpose of marketing?”, Querajkowski questioned, who admitted to being “disgusted” by what happened.
